I have several muskets that I keep in a primitive cabinet. I wanted something period looking the fasten a chain or small rope to to act as a restrain to keep the muskets from inadvertently falling forward. I use these nails as fastener points. The look very nice, the over sized nail head serve as wonderful tie points. The nail material of construction and finish is spot on. Typically on these early nails, they were driven clean through the would and the ends were hammered over so that the nail points were bent over locking the nail in place.
