These door stoppers were clean with a smooth wood finish and the rubber stopper connected at the tip was substanstantial. We stained them instead of painting and the wood took a nice even stain. I would shop from Renovator's Supply again.
These worked perfectly for my application. Unless you make them yourself, they are a very difficult item to find.
These door stops are made from Oak and are beautifully milled. I found them extremely easy to stain and Varnish.
Delivery was prompt. Price was reasonable. I would definitely recommend this item.
WOW! these are great, high quality for staining or painting. Look great in my historic home!
Very pleased with these. They needed a little sanding in preparation for priming and painting, but the quality is otherwise very good. Screw at base seems secure. The tip is a harder plastic, not a soft rubber.
We are enjoying this wood bumper which is a great option for our 120 year old home. I stained and polyurethaned it and it's already working hard to keep the doorknob from hitting our wall. Just one note... it's really easy to install; it screws into the wall. The screw is very large, so be very sure where you want it or you will have a big hole if you move it.
Bought these for a farm house that we painted & the stoppers were painted to match the interior.
Worked very well.
I purchased this as part of renovating our dining room. I finished it with some minwax stain, followed by several coats of Fromby's Tung Oil Finish (rubbing varnish). Came out wonderful, highly recommended (and worth the price) for adding that little touch of character to your home.
I painted mine first, then, when they were dry, I installed them in about 30 seconds. I would definitely recommend!
We are flipping an old home and ordered these. I stained and varnished them and they look great in character of this grand old house.
My 1920's home has several original door bumpers - but over the years they began to have 'seen better days'. Looking for similar-styled replacements I was floored by the cost for just a small piece of wood. This package looked vintage styled enough to fit in with my home's look - even if it took a bit of manual labor. I recommend that you fine-sand them first before applying your first coat of stain. I did not and wished I had (I did sand between coats, which helped) - but either way, I was happy with the end result. The original door bumper (pictured with the others) wasn't perfect either - so I was okay with it.
I've had a couple of the double-ended screws to be stripped inside the wooden stop. Not the end of the world, but had to be worked on before install.
