Bumpers are fine, the screws provided are not so fine. It is too easy to over tighten the screws as they are flat head screws with a tapered shoulder. A little too much pressure and they will pull right through the rubber bumper. I replaced them with 5/8" pan head metal screws and got a much better result. I definitely suggest drilling a 3/8" to 1/2" deep pilot hole.

Great for simple problem

These parts take care of a problem wood toilet seats. The bottom buffers/pads on the seat wear from damage due to heavy use, standing on or other issues. These parts solve the problems. Have used before over the years. The home centers are happy to just keep selling more seats to you but repair kit far cheaper and simple.

Great replacement for factory installed toilet seat bumpers.

We have two toilet seats that are in good condition other than the bumpers on both were worn down or broken. From the factory, these bumpers are hollow plastic. The replacement bumpers are solid silicone and screw into the toilet seat so they are sturdy and should hold up over time. Very easy to install and they won't crush or break anytime soon.

Way better than the type you would find in a big box local store. Excellent quality.

Wonderful solution

This is such a wonderful answer to a sad problem! I've had to throw out completely good items in the past as no replacement parts were to be found. This time, I was able to resurrect a perfectly good (& lovely) wooden toilet seat and keep it functioning for alot longer (saves money too )!!

Easy to Install, Work Great, and Good Quality

These are great. I had the original bumpers on the toilet seat and one of them got "crushed" over time. I should have replaced them sooner and would have done so if I knew how easy it was going to be and how much better these are.These are a little softer and don't make that loud noise when I put the seat down and the bumpers hit the porcelain toilet.I read other reviews that some people are having trouble with the screws that hold the bumpers in not going in far enough and scratching their porcelain toilet. I am guessing they must not be installing them correctly or not screwing the screws in all the way. Mine are about 3/16" past the surface and into the opening of the pre-molded holes that come with the bumpers.

Well worth the money!

I recently replaced the broken plastic bumpers with your rubber ones. All though a bit higher(double the height of the originals) they work ok. I think they being rubber squish down when weight is applied so that is good. The cost is more but these will last a long time! The makers of this Oak toilet seat should have installed these instead of the plastic ones, as these weren’t cheap! Thanks for making this product!

Difficult to Find, But Worth the Effort

These bumpers are what should have come with the expensive, quarter-sawn, oak toilet seat that I bought a year ago from a company in California. Those weren't nearly tall enough to elevate the seat above the bowl to the same height as the brass hinge.Anyway, finding and applying these from Yield House solved the problem of the extreme stress applied to the hinge and oak wood each time someone sat down on the seat.Thank You, Yield House!

Sitting Pretty

I loved my red oak toilet seat and when the bumper broke on one side, I regretfully decided to look for a replacement. On a whim, I decided to see if I could replace the bumper. I bought these, and installation was quick even though I had to drill new holes. I am very happy with the result as these are much more sturdy than the ones that were originally on an expensive toilet seat.

Great Seat Bumpers

I found these to be an excellent product. Theold bumpers were held on by nails. They were pretty easy to remove. The holes from the nails of the original bumpers exactly lined up with the holes for the screws that secure these new bumpers. I was at it with the seat bumper for no more than a hour, if that. The cover bumpers were a different story. The new ones are secured with screws that are larger than the screws for the seat bumpers. I drilled out the nail holes on the cover with great care, soo as to not drill all the way through the cover. I used a small "Ridgid" impact driver to install these screws, as the larger size and caution suggested that would be easier. I set them so that the base of the head was right at the surface of the cover. The bumpers for the cover snapped right on. These bumpers are silicone, so noticeably quieter than the original plastic. They are a little thicker than the original bumpers which lifts the seat slightly. To solve that problem, I got some "Hinge Bolt Washers" from Ace Hardware that seem like they will lift the back of the seat slightly.

High Quality!

These are very high quality seat bumpers. I used them on a custom mahogany seat and lid for a 1916 Crane toilet. I was very happy they screw on so I didn't have to swing a hammer anywhere near seat or commode. Screws will keep them secure for a lifetime. I was also very pleased with the softness of the silicone. All other bumpers I could find were hard plastic. Great protection for our irreplaceable antique toilets. Color was perfect against the wood. Glad to find this product. I bought a second set to replace plastic bumpers I had installed on the restored antique seat for upstairs toilet.

These are good but not great

So I didn't like the fact that the you cannot install the screws deep enough not to scratch the porcelain. I've read this problem in multiple reviews before I purchased these. So I had to come up with my own unique way of installing them with a silicone RTV. I used red so it blended with the color as close as possible. These are superior to the original bumpers in every way and feel great. I have filled the voids on them with rtv so this may have effected the feeling. I did this for two reasons both me and my wife are over 200 lbs so I did not want them squashing down and I also wanted as much bounding surface area for the rtv as possible. The only reason this is getting a 4 star is because there could have been a better more low profile mount solution for the pads to prevent screws from scraping on the toilet. Many they could bond them the a peace of flare metal and allow for counter sunk screw attachment. Or put plugs in the kit to cover the screws, Adhesive backing, or even a pop on design like the to small round bumpers in the kit. So many solutions are available it is silly to let these move on as designed.

Saved me the price of a new seat!

Well, that saved me the price of a new seat! I have an older wooden seat that has lasted at least 15 years, and one of the bumpers broke off. Bought these, installed a replacement, and voila! The distance between was slightly different, but with the wooden seat it was simple to just screw in the second screw using screwdriver pressure (didn't need to pre-drill). These are rubber instead of a stiff plastic and a slightly different color from the old bumpers. Don't care.

Will work well when installed

We have a custom-painted toilet and matching seat and lid, but my husband is heavy and the smaller cushions that came with the seat and lid started to flatten and then make marks on the toilet itself. These cushions are thick and well made, although another reviewer said the screws would make marks, so he used silicone which we will do, too. Haven't installed the cushions yet, but once they are in place, we will "goop" up the screw heads with silicone so over the years, they won't poke through to the toilet itself. The color is a medium chocolate brown.

Costs a little more, but worth it.

I spent an hour or so looking over the options for what I needed, as the original bumpers had cracked. These were the most expensive of those I looked at, but they did the job, and I was able to install them in about ten minutes. One concern I had was that the holes on the originals wouldn't line up the holes on these, and they didn't, but as another reviewer noted, it was possible just to screw the new bumpers into the old seat. I even added the additional one at the front of the seat to gain a little more stability. If you can use a screwdriver and have the good sense to stretch some plastic wrap over the opening of the bowl before you start, these are easy to put on, thick enough to provide the support you need, and they seem to be holding up well after a month. They cost more, but they are worth it.

Soft Seat

The plastic bumpers on my old toilet seat finally crunched and flattened out, and just fell apart, and so I ordered a new oak seat.But it wasn't as long as my old seat, and left the front of the bowl showing, which didn't look too classy.There wasn't anything actually wrong with my old oak seat, anyway, other than the dried-out and squashed bumpers, and so I ordered these.I was leery of those that used glue to stick them on - because they invariably fall off, in time, but these used screws.Plus, they were silicone, and not plastic.I got these, and put them on, and it is totally silent when I lower the lid, and a softer, cushiony feel to sit on.They're fine, and it sure beats a new seat which doesn't fit right, and doesn't look as good as the old one.

Beware of metal screw heads touching toilet rim

Easy to install. While original holes did not match with replacement bumper holes, did not need to predrill new holes. Wood was soft enough to accept metal screws. However, we notice that the bumpers are so soft when one sits on the seat the metal screw heads hit the toilet rim. It caused a small nick on the rim. We put a small flat white adhesive cushion piece on the rim where the screws come down on the rim to prevent further damage. Unless you lift the toilet seat, one won't notice it. Also make sure you tighten screw as much as possible. This may help prevent screw from touching rim.

Sturdy! Great for heavier people when the factory plastic ones crush down.

Worked excellent for replacing the original cheap plastic factory installed ones on an oak seat. The original don't hold up to heavier people.These installed easily, did have to drill a new hole for each as they don't line up with original holes exactly. Softens sound when seat is accidentally let down from full upright. Have not had any issue with them since installed. Works well for a heavy individual.

Perfect way to upgrade a forgotten bowl need

These are better than what I was expecting and added much needed support and protection to the seat. They are a softer rubber that come with the screws and premade holes that you simply screw into place. I made a small pilot hole first and using a hand screwdriver tightened them in place using all five larger ones and what a difference it makes. The screws sit farther in so no worries about damaging the porcelain bowl and looks great as well!

No screws.....

I needed to fix two commode seats but having never seen this product in the flesh I decided to order 1 set. They worked great. I love to softer rubber and they were very easy to install. The pack came with all the screws and even had to two smaller button pads that go between the seat and lid. I decided to reorder for the other commode. The problem, this set came only with the main 5 pads but didn’t have the two button pads or any screws. I had to find screws before I could even do the job.

The Brown Silicone Toilet Seat Bumpers are Perfect, solid pieces screwed onto our western wood toilet seat for great comfort, looks clean & professional, should last a long time & a great improvement from our plastic broken standard issue bumpers. Excellent quality and package contents

My original pads on the toilet seat were plastic and cracked after a short time. These are a rubber material and appear they will hold up better. Perhaps the only benefit of the plastic ones are that they may be better to clean and keep sanitary. But we'll see over time. These are definitely quieter and softer closing lid. I would definitely recommend these based on quality and package contents. I would buy again if I need for other seats

These were easy to install and work well

I have a teak seat I got from WaMart years ago that had plastic bumpers which I have been gluing back together for a while now. They had gotten so fractured into little pieces I was losing some down the toilet. These were easy to install and work well. They are a little thicker than the old ones they replaced but will probably flatten a little over time.

Holes don't line up.

I like the material these are made out of. It's just what I was looking for. However, the holes don't lune up with the existing holes in my toilet seat. So, akthoygh I did the best I could to affix them to my old seat, they screws scratch my porcelain toilet bowl, whenever I sit down on it.<br>Is there any brand of oblong toilet seats that already have this type of bumper affixed?
