Good for wood seats

Do you hate cheap plastic seats that the seat seems to be ready to last the apocalypse but the hinges are like they were put together by a toddler? Do you like the durability of hinges on a wood seat but find the one cheek wipe sneak a questionable activity? Then this is the solution for you. A few shallow predrilled holes and you're ready to create a wooden seat with better distribution of weight on bumpers, like it should have been in the first place. If you enjoy paying as much for bumpers as you did for the toilet seat to make said toilet seat actually functional, then this is the kit. Stick on bumpers won't last, and so this is the happy medium that is hopefully worth the exorbitant cost dor silicone and a few screws.

Toilet seat bumpers Fantastic, Great fit, same as the previous ones that were there, Silicone material seems fairly decent Quality! Lid bumpers, didn't care for huge Flat Head screw & tiny bumper design! I ordered Lid Bumpers from separate company which are larger diameter, identical to the existing bumpers. Refurbishing an Old Oak toilet seat! Hopefully Lasts beyond 10 years?

Good product, great for adding bumpers to wood toilet seat but be prepared to adjust height

The height of these is almost .5". My Luxe 185 bidet offer bumpers that are .7" high but attached with stickers, but do not have any way to attach with hardware. Long story short, the stick on bumpers don't work well, they fall off ... and the height needed to adjust YOUR toilet seat will likely vary, so not every bumper is the same heght. In my case, my excellent Bemis 1500ec 390 elongated was wood and came with the best attachment mechanism, which made removal for adding the bumpers very easy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B005MTSTS4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I used a small drill bit and kept it very shallow, so drill maybe a 5/8 deep hole (or less) in toilet seat, and used these bumpers as my guide, which also helped keep the pre-drill from going too deep. For my needs, I figured out by sticking in layers of cardboard shims that I need to add 7mm to my back 2 bumpers, and add 6mm to my front 2 bumpers and add 1mm to the fifth bumper I put on the front of the seat. To achieve the perfect level using these bumpers, I finally had to use 4 m3 x 25mm flat head wood screws instead of the included screws, which only worked for the front bumper. I added nylon washers, with an OD of 10mm and ID of 3mm. The best part of these is they can be attached to wood toilet seats with carefully pre drilled (shallow) holes. In retrospect, larger 10mm bylon spacers would have worked better, but I didn't know the exact amount of mm I needed to raise these bumpers up (and finding a 7mm height in a 10mm nylon washer was hard on amazon), so I used the smaller set to give me the best changes of success, which worked. In the end, this was an expensive project, but I ended up with a nice assortment of washers and screws for future projects. From everything I read, the stick on bumpers all suck. I understand now what some include 2 or 3 sizes, as my toilet and lid combo needed different heights for rear, front and front lid locations. This set includes 2 smaller bumpers which I didn't use at all. The description is accurate. What is missing on this product description was the HEIGHT, which as mentioned was around .48" or about 12mm. So in my case, I add 7 (19mm) rear pair, 6 (18mm total) front pair) and 1 (13 mm total) for the front of the lid. YMMV since every toilet and lid is likely a bit different. For me this produced a great set of bumpers and the options/alternatives were all ugly (worse). This is the only product I found which can be attached with screws. The additional of nylon spacers worked and the result looked professional.

Visit the Renovators Supply Manufacturing Store Be careful when installing these toilet seat bumpers. Replacing toilet seat bumpers can present problems. Drill pilot holes depending on the screw size, and be careful not to drill through the toilet seat. You may want to file or grind off the sharp ends of the screws so that they do not get pushed through the seat and cause stab wounds. If you have nylon screws available, use them instead. Some flimsy toilet seats are so thin, that you may not have enough material to drill into and use the supplied screws. Using very short screws as anchors, and using white silicone glue or caulk underneath and around the bumpers may be all that you can do. Also, the rubber bumpers may get squashed, and the metal screw heads can get pushed back enough to scratch the porcelain bowl (cover screw heads with caulk or silicone glue), -and the pointed screws can even crack the plastic or sawdust toilet seat. Unfortunately, there is another problem with elongated toilet seats. The front of the cheap modern elongated seats are flimsy plastic and not supported, -so the seat can flex and pinch you, -and even pull out a few short hairs when you go to stand up. These seats definitely need bumpers added to the bottom front of the seat. Finding old-style solid wood elongated toilet seats, or even very thick plastic toilet seats, is very difficult, so you are stuck with doing a little field engineering, to overcome the manufacturer’s lack of bumpers under the front of the toilet seat. Not all the parts there.

Did not receive the two smaller bumpers as advertised in the pack of 7. Only received the 5 larger bumpers plus all the screws. For the price I paid ($19.99), I would have thought they would have made sure all the parts were in the pack. Originally had gotten stick-on bumpers and those did not last even two weeks so decided I needed something better which I believe these will be. Only time will tell.

Must have

There is no excuse for toilet seats not having these on it. But since they don't, there is no excuse for you not getting these. You immediately feel the secure difference and don't feel as though you are going to slide off the toilet once you install these. I bought another set for my other toilet. BUY IT!!!

Good bumpers

The bumpers were easy to mount on the toilet seat. We like the fact that they have a little give in them and are not hard plastic.

Were are a little heavy and we cracked 2 seats. These stabilized the seats very well. I wish the pack had eight to better cover the front but I am happy.

Better Than The Bumpers That Came With the Toilet Seat

The plastic bumpers that came with the toilet seat only lasted a few months. These silicon bumpers have been used about a year and are still in great condition.

Everything was included, instructions were easy, pilot holes are always your best bet when screwing in to wood. FOr the uninitiated- don't make the pilot hole the same diameter as the screw threads!Placement is totally up to you and there really are enough bumpers for 2 john seats if you only need a little reinforcement. Or- you can go to town and seriously reinforce!These bumpers are a bit taller than the stock bumpers that came with the new seat. Toilet seats are several pieces of wood glued together. Two bumpers are not enough.

Are added support for any toilet seat. I think they make the seat last longer. I do recommend them. You do have to drill two holes for each one to mount them.

Better than expected

Before I got and installed these, the hard plastic ones were cracking and the seat was sliding back and forth during TP use, the seat does NOT move at all now, Not something I would normally leave a review on but these things work and are worth the $ very pleased

if mounting on plastic toilet seat.... DRILL PILOT HOLES about half-way through from the bottom of the seatto prevent the screws from splitting or cracking the toilet seat. The Pilot holes should be slightly smaller in diameterthan the screws. This will give the screws something to grip into as you screw the bumpers on the bottom of the toiletseat and at the same time not exert too much stress on the bottom of the seat to cause it to split. If done like this and alittle strong glue is applied to the screws as they are inserted into the pilot holes, these bumpers should last as long as the toilet seat does.
