Replace the screws. Two problems with the provided screws - 1) flatheads are the worst type of screw to install without stripping, and 2) they break while trying to install, which then required drilling a new pilot hole.

These items are crudely made with sloppy tolerances. Typical “made-in-India” casting quality. The bolt throw is very short. They will hold a door closed and that was all I was looking for. Be sure to have some black paint available after install to touch up the screw heads.

Not Functional
These latches are strictly ornamental. They willNot keep a cabinet shut if you pull on the knob because the latch bar does not slide far enough over. I will now have to put something else on the inside of the doors to keep them shut like a magnet etc. I like the look of the latches so I’m keeping them but I wish they worked as they should.

Perfect
These worked great for my project of putting doors on my daughters island that she stores mason jars on. Her 1 year old just couldn't keep his hands off the glass jars so something had to be done. This latch was the perfect fit for the design; nice looking and sturdy.

Exceeded expectations!
After reading reviews, I was unsure about these latches as many people seem to have issues or concerns. These were sturdier than I expected and exactly what I wanted to give my project the "farmhouse" style look.I will say this about install...if you do not have the latch and slide lined up appropriately, you will have some issues with the latch sticking. I installed these myself with drill, driver, and clamp. The first one took me a little longer, but I got through all four in less than 20 minutes. It only took that long because I was trying to be sure they would not stick when opening. These are used on dog kennels that are opened and closed MANY times a day, and I have been very pleased with how they function. They definitely make the piece of furniture we made look amazing!

Very Nice Latch
This latch has a very nice look and works solidly. It looks rather fitting on my antique buffet.My only complaint is that the screws supplied are not Phillips head screws. It is not easy to getting the shallow slotted head screw to go into the wood when you apply any pressure whatsoever. I highly recommend supplying Phillips head screws with this product. Screw issue aside, I would purchase this product again as it looks and performs so nicely.

These are fine for decorative use
These are fine for decorative use, but the range of motion on the locking bar limits their use for functional uses. There just isn’t a wide enough range to get fully in the reciever and still be able to open it.
