Item came with only half the hardware. Was advertised as brass but is pot metal.. I put a magnet to it and it stuck. I'll keep it. But was not what was advertised. I'll supply the hardware.

Another custom install
This knocker was what I needed because itis narrow enough for where I needed to pit it. The only problem was it was not going onto a door but beside on the door frame so it was not practical or possible to use the included bolts to install it. I knew this when I purchased it and already had a plan to surface mount it. 3 carefully placed hole and 3 black screws and I was in business. It's a nice door knocker and I would recommend it.

Can't figure out why the area to put the screw into is raised 1/4 inch, which causes it not to lie flat. Very disappointed - this should be a 1, 2, 3 easy install, but because of the raised areas it is not. May end up returning it - might be able to get around it, but really shouldn't have to. Don't want to try to carve out a square hole so this item will lie flat. Dumb design

This is pretty and I am happy with the look from the outside. However, I didn't realize that it screws in all the way through the door so the screws show on the inside. The screws are brass (?) covered so not just screws poking out, but still not what I was expecting. Also, the screws were too long and they had to be shortened to work for my door.

Absolutely beautiful
This door knocker is absolutely gorgeous. It is heavy cast iron with beautiful detailing. I had it professionally installed, so I cannot address “ease of installation.” It was easy for me! It came a day earlier than expected. I would highly recommend it for a traditional style home. It looks great on my mahogany stained door.i

Just what I was looking for
Beautiful heavy door knocker. I bought this to replace a baldwin style knocker. I was very pleased to see that the holes lined up almost perfectly with the old ones. The holes only needed to be a little bit bigger to accommodate the larger screws. The only reason I didnt give 5 stars is because the pin at the top pops out when you use the knocker. Not an issue if it is mostly for ornamental purposes. If you actually plan to use it regularly, you might want to replace the pin with a longer one that you can bend on the ends so it won't pop out.

Made to be installed on a thick door
I took off one star since it was a challenge to adapt this to installing it on a screen door. After cutting the bolts it tightened up OK. A caution that it was made for a certain thickness of door would have been helpful - I would have looked for a different option. Now that it is installed I am OK with it.
