the latch and the catch were good quality, but the screws, were weak quality and did not hold up using a power screw driver. I needed to find the screws to complete my project.

Great latches (and seller)!

I bought these to keep the french doors to my plant room closed (the original latches kept sticking and I wanted to replace them with something with more character). These fit the bill wonderfully. They were easy to install and open/close smoothly. They feel sturdy and have successfully kept the cats from pushing the doors open and trying to kill themselves with what they seem to see as a plant buffet. Originally one of the two came missing a piece, but I contacted the seller and they sent a full replacement out the next day and that one arrived in perfect condition. Although I would've loved a few more style options (not a huge heart fan myself), these are fantastic and I would definitely buy them again.

Made well and sturdy for our indoor doggie gate

Reading all of the reviews, I decided to order the latches because they were so nice. The black wrought iron gate flip latch is very sturdy and stable. We purchased 3 sets. One for each hardwood dog gate, we created for our home. They are adorable and well made! I would not use them on an exterior barn door or stable. The latches are not large enough to support massive doors and weight, so it is important that you read all of the detail regarding them before purchase. I would recommend them for handmade hardwood dog gates, kitchen cabinets, or for crafting if you are re-purposing antiques. So all of the negative reviews are due to the fact that they did not do their own research. With the order, we also purchased the 5 1/4 or 5 1/2 inch wrought iron hinges to attach to the frame of our hardwood dog doors. I apologize when it comes to the exact measurement but, you can find them here on Amazon. So with all of this said, we are absolutely satisified with our purchases, Thank you!

Very easy to install.

Heavy duty made to last my life time. Held my gate close when winds where blowing 45 mph. Very happy about that.

nicely crafted latches!

After reading some product reviews, I was a bit concerned that these latches would be too flimsy but I think for most applications, they are plenty strong. I would not install them on large barn-type doors, but for most lightweight gates, I think they will do just fine.The only detail I would have improved are the screws - they are a bit small (1" deep only). Overall, very pleased with them.

So far, great. I installed it. Much better lock than the fence company originally put on the gate. Very pretty. Seems strong, very heavy.

Looks Nice but weak

Looks ??great! It pin broke in the first windy day in South Dakota. I drilled it out and replaced it with a bolt and nut. Not unhappy just using it now of more of a decoration.

Attractive

This gate latch is easy to install and attractive. The pin that holds the swinging arm in place does look a bit small/flimsy, for the weight of the arm. But so far it's working just fine for my small and light weight gate. I don't believe I would buy it for a very large and heavy gate.

Not sturdy

Pin broke on a very windy day 2 days after install. While it is solid metal the pin in the swinging arm is not well made. Looks great though...

Expected it not to be as quality as it is. It’s not at all a heavy piece but it’s solid. And once put up on door it looks fabulous and works great. Not at all flimsy or loose when in closed position. We have an indoor pig who loves to try and sneak into our large walk in pantry. I hate the difficult child safety patches that actually work for the type of double doors we have on our pantry plus they are just not convenient or attractive. The hardware in our kitchen match this piece so it fits in beautifully and looks so special and unique. A lot less like we are those crazy parents who lock up the food like we live in a prison. This is not so obtrusive and does the job perfectly. It’s a good side not to look pathetic and to small but it’s not overbearing and big. Highly recommend.
