Be aware that you can’t install these after the carpet is already in place, should have known this but it is mentioned they can easily be placed over carpet runner in the description, which is definitely not true. They are gorgeous but we either have to rip up the newly installed carpet to put them on or return them.

Beautiful and ideal as secondary support

These are perfect for what i intended them to be, secondary decorative accents to traditional stair rods. If your stairs have a lip at the top, they do help with the curve.

Pretty, less expensive solution

These brass carpet-keeping hooks for stairs took my handyman about 4 hours to install 27 stairs. They do the job just fine and look nice, I think. They’re solid brass and well-made, and a big cost-saving over brass carpet rods.

They look pretty, I'm not sure about quality yet since I just installed them. I was skeptical about safety, but they do not cause any safety issues at all. I do not hit on them when getting up and down, not even my two-year-old baby. My only worry not it's for them not to change color with time, other than that, I like them.

Decorative only! They’re pretty and they were delivered quickly!! The powder coat gives it a nice, “old cast iron” appearance, but they are aluminum. I thought they’d help hold the runner a little bit, and assisted by a pad and the rug tape that holds all of my area rugs in place (with an 80 lb rambunctious playful dog! Best tape ever!) I thought it would be ok, but NO. The runner was coming loose OFTEN so I eventually wound up just using construction screws to hold it in place. The photo of the broken clip is what happens when someone falls down the stairs- the clips fail and the runner comes loose (until you put in the construction screws, of course.) The description does mention they’re not to be the sole source of securing the runner and that they’re aluminum, so only 1 star off for the let down. I just thought they’d still do a bit better. 4 stars because they are still gorgeous, and the option for a 2 pack at least makes replacement of the broken clip an easy process!! **I’d just personally consider them to be a decorative element only.** (Runner and clips installed about 6 months ago.)

I was tired of my boring stairs and my husband didn’t want to get rid of the carpet, so this was the compromise for now.

The product itself is nice and looks neet on carpet, but it gets loose in no time and NTM very expensive.
