This is a beautiful, solid piece. Nothing to criticize whatsoever. Bright turquoise color shows up nicely on my patio. Love that it has Roman numerals. if you're in the market for a sundial, I totally recommend this!

Marvelous Invention!

Imagine a gadget that keeps perfect time in my own backyard. After thousands of years of astrological scientists studying the universe who would have thought that merely pointing that needle to Polaris, the North Star, you would be able to tell the time of day. Check out the pic. This little device is telling me that it is half past nine in the AM Mountain Standard Time. Sorry to all you Daylight Savings Time enthusiasts but unless you decide to add an hour to contradict the sun and the earth’s rotation and axis you’ll just have to add an hour and extend the blazing heat and sunshine until (currently) nine PM instead eight PM. Seriously I love this sun dial. It’s a great addition to my backyard. Well made and easy to read. If you can tell from my photo I have placed it on a rotatable bird bath (also available on Amazon) which allows me to set it pointed at the North Star fairly easily and accurately. Worth the money if you are a fan of sturdy, good looking, easy to read sundials and an enthusiast of Standard Time.

The sundial is heavy and well made. I'd have preferred a natural brass color over the blue but I'm over all pleased with it.

Nice for the garden but not too accurate for telling time

This is a unique, picturesque addition to the garden; I ordered a stand for mine. I always wanted to see how well a sundial works; at least with this one, don’t plan on using it to tell time! I had to research on the Internet how to position a sundial but the instructions ranged from vague to mind-boggling. Finally I just used my watch to position this sundial to the right time. When I’m in the garden and look to see what time it shows, it’s usually wrong by about an hour.

Very pretty but Phoenix bird dial screw opening not aligned to screw opening on sun dial platform.

The Verdigris and brass of the sun dial is very attractive in the garden. We placed it on an older bird bath pedastal that we had stored in our garage. We had one disappointment...the holes that were drilled at the factory to attach the Phoenix bird dial did not line up so we were unable to use the screws ... We had to glue the Phoenix bird to the dial. This is why I could not give this item 5 stars.

Beautiful sundial

This sundial will be going in my herb garden. I have wanted one for some time but was not inspired to purchase until I found this one.
