Very Heavy and Nice
Very nice construction. Heavy metal. I have not installed it yet and the only issue I see is cutting the mounting hardware to fit the width of my door.

It's a beautiful brass lion but the mounting bolt screws into an elevated post. See review.
Bolt screws into a hole that's in a brass post that's higher than the plane of the back of the brass lion. You, therefore, will need to either cut out a round valley in a wood door or create a 3/8" thick template to fit under the elevated screw hole. If you're creative and handy you'll be able to mount this to either a wooden or steel door.

10 Downing Street Knocker
This doorknocker is worth the investment. Adds richness to your door. Quality weight. Quality built. Funny story, Home Depot Pro wanted to charge $175 to install. Instead, I watched “How to Install Doorknocker” on YouTube a few times and installed it myself. I used toothpaste and tape on screw hole (indent tape on hole then add toothpaste) to set mark on door, drilled pilot hole and then used 3/16 drill bit to finish. Said size drill bit makes for tight connection, so drill slowly and carefully. Lastly, the two main screws are longer than needed. So measure door thickness then factor in about 1/4” to screw length …then cut. Final + most important advice - measure twice cut once. You’ll thank yourself later. My door looks great because of these steps + considerations. Smash that thumbs up if this review helps you, too. Thanks. /Bklyn??

How the door knocker attaches to the door is very important needs more emphasis.
Bought for a Metal Clad door, description does not show that the bolt goes from the (inside) back of the door to attach to the Lionhead knocker on the panels fronting the door (outside), our door is thicker then the screws so doesnt work, need a knocker that screws from the front panel into door plus the big screws show on the backside, so looks tacky other than that good product will keep looking, thank you

Perfect finishing touch
The lion door knocker is the perfect finishing touch to any door. I did not drill through the door to attach it as per the instructions but rather attached it from the front only using a smaller screw as the center anchor point. It is extremely solid in its construction and we have received many compliments.

Nice heavy weight item
Nice heavy weight item. Only gave 4 stars because unless you want drill a hole completely through your door to attach the bottom striker plate , you have to modify it. I ended up drilling through the bottom piece and screwing it to the door. you can't see the screw when the ring is resting on it. Also the top piece (lion's head) is designed for a complete through the door mounting as well but can be just screwed to door without drilling all the way trough it. Once you get it mounted it's a pretty cool door knocker.

The Lion Head door knocker is really nice. I would have liked it to be 91/2 like the knocker which in already in place so I would not have to drill new holes and patch old holes, not sure if I will use it but it's really nice.
