The brackets look very nice. However, the mounting screws that were provided are just "straight slotted" screws. Due to the small size, it is very difficult to install them without messing the slot up and the finish on them. They should have been either "phillip's head", square drive or Torx screws to provide better grip for the driver.

'Great quality & hard to find'
'I looked all over town & online for unusual stair brackets that would fit in a Spanish home with a very open staircase. Finally I found the bracket I had seen in decor images. It’s solid, well built and very matte black. Just what I hoped for. The flower detail is not too rustic or loud by any means and could work with a range of decor. Love little details like this in my home!'

'Great Quality & Matte Finish'
'Sturdy brackets and will be a nice detail in our home. Should mention these are a matte finish, not glossy as they appeared to me in the pictures (so I ordered a sample to be sure). Matte is what I was hoping for so I'm happy. I searched all over online trying to find stair railing brackets like this or even similar and this was the only place that had them.'

High quality product at a terrific price
I needed one carpet rod holder to replace a broken one. This product was just a bit smaller than the one I was replacing but not noticeably once in place. It also lacked a hole to mount the finial but brass is easy to drill. So for a 1/3 of the price for a perfect match and a little work, I have a great replacement. And don't let the picture in the listing fool you, the item is a nice shiny brass just as you'd expect.
