Looks great. It's perfect for my door project. My only concern is about its durability. It feels a little cheaper and flimsier than I expected.
My package came with 4 full hinges, so I got 2 free! Makes the price more reasonable. But couldn't find much else that looked good for cheap for my needs. They are a flat black finish, and have a rough surface, The bolt slides tightly, but seems sturdy.bought for use to lock an interior french door.
I know the description says it's 4 inches long and it is, but is still seems smaller than I thought. Oops. It doesn't slide/operate very well either.
The slide lock is durable enough for what I needed. It looks wonderful on the doors where it was installed. Even though the lock is great, unfortunately, it is too small for what I needed. I will have to find something bigger, but wanted to give the item the review it deserved.
Nothing it is too small
this bolt lock is exactly what i was looking for!! it cant be opened by average person when u want to keep em out plus it looks super!! i would recommend this for anyone wanting to lock themselves in!! its exactly as described & i couldnt be more pleased w/it!
Looks great, is exactly as described and is perfect for keeping my toddler from opening the door down to the basement.
Very attractive and it does the job
These are great. Look very authentic, unlike some iron products which look cheesy. I wouldn't want to put them on a door that had to open and close frequently, though, because they are a little hard to slide open and closed. I think there is a tension feature that may be slightly adjustable. I haven't tried that yet. Not a problem for my use, which is for an outdoor cabinet that does not see heavy use.
Lovely and cheap. We use it very seldom so I can't say about durability. Looks good in our colonial period home.
So why only 3 stars? It is not made truly clear that these are for cabinet use ONLY.1: These are tiny. Read the description and measurements closely2: They are in no way a security fixture.3: The slide and actuation are stiff--so even for cabinet use maybe reserve them for once a year plate armoire or some such--not daily access.4: $22 for these little things? The good side to these is that if you are OK spending $22 for a pair of tiny little decorative slides, they do have a decent look.I'm returning mine, so no hard feelings with the company--though I have to pay shipping back.
It's too expensive for the size. 3 5/8" is pretty small. I wouldn't have paid half that if I had seen it in a store.
It looks perfect in my old home with lots of antique hardware. It was very sticky/hard to pull at first, and I had to just stick a screwdriver in to bend a piece Inside where the bar goes in to give it more room to slide back and forth with ease.
We were surprised at how big and heavy these were. Love the sound when we slide the bolts at night. Sounds very much like a heavy bolt on a castle door.
Really cute slide bolts. The only problem is they have been up maybe a week. There is already rust. But I’m going to keep them.
