I like the hasp. It is sturdy, and it has a nice look/finish to it. There are two things that could be better, though. First, the mounting bracket for the hinged piece has a bit of a limit on the rotation. Specifically, to mount this to the underside of a chest lid, the mounting plate and screws have to extend outward toward the front of the lid. That means you have to have a decent overhang for it to mount. It won't swivel far enough to mount in the other direction. Second, there is little to no tolerance in the slot where the "looped" part sticks through the hinged part. That means that, when you are tightening the screws, if you aren't perfectly centered and the piece moves by 1/32", it isn't going to close easily. Just a bit of "slop" would be really helpful, so that a slight misalignment doesn't result in having to fill holes and try to drill them again.

Quality metal latch on a budget

We bought these to latch the doors on our chicken coop and chicken run door. They were really easy to install. They are a matte black color and have a little bit of texture on them. They are great quality and look and feel more expensive than they really are. I’m very pleased with this purchase and would buy again if I need more.

I love the look of these and the quality of the latch was in line with what I needed, so I ordered 2. I'm knocking off a star because I apparently got the last of a batch and the first of a new batch as the 2nd delivery had a latch base that was about 1/8" greater height. The first latch fit perfectly but the 2nd latch left the screw holes dangerously close to the edge. I have a bit of split wood even with pre-drilling. This is only a problem if you have a tight install area as I do.

Nice sized hasp lock.

I purchased several hasp locks before finding one that is strong enough. This is for a liquor cabinet that I don’t want accessed. The lock is from the cable lock that comes with car covers. I’d like to get a thicker lock, but for now it’s ok. It’s served it’s purpose. So back to the hasp lock. Easy to install. Sturdy and strong. Well made. Not a joke of a latch and not gaudy either. I recommend depending on your needs.

Hardware included.

It’s a hasp and it works. Honestly the only reason I picked this one was because it came with hardware that I’m to lazy to go buy. But it seems like a quality product and it’s easy on the eyes.

Mounting screws too small

The screw head stripped since the metal was too soft. The slots for the screwdriver were too narrow and shallow.

Great Hasp Product - Excellent Customer Service

The product itself is great. Just as pictured, it's sturdy and attractive in a black satin finish and it comes with screws which many hasps do not.But beyond the product itself, the customer service is exceptional. When I noted in a request for feedback that the first item shipped had a minor manufacturing defect, they asked for a photo of it and then immediately sent me a replacement which is flawless. This avoided my having to pack up and return the defective item. I am very impressed with Renovator's Supply and would highly recommend them.
